New Owner Lacy Sher — who had been collaborating with the former owner, Greg (Tony) DiGiovine, providing the shop’s cakes — tells What Now San Francisco, “It was time for Tony to sell, and we have been friends for a long time.” She adds, “He was ready to pass the torch.”
The reopening follows the eatery’s closure in August, citing renovations, according to the eatery’s website.
Sher says that the menu will continue to offer the same pizza creations that locals have come to know and love — options topped with ingredients such as pesto, organic pinenuts, smoked mozzarella, and heirloom tomato — as well as the vegan and gluten-free pizza options already available.
Additionally, items such as vegetable soup, polenta, lasagna, calzones, foccacia, salads, and pizzeles — traditional Italian waffle cookies made with organic flour, sugar, eggs, butter, anise, and vanilla — will be available to diners.
Tony Tutto’s is slated to reopen in mid-September.
