The full-service Caribbean restaurant, already equipped with its Type 41 liquor license, is taking over a space at 901 Washington Street, near eateries such as Blue Bottle Coffee, Square Pie Guys, and understory oakland.

The owner and chef, Frantz Felix, confirms the news with What Now San Francisco, but could not provide additional information before publication.

Nevertheless, the T’Chaka website offers further insight.

“This cozy establishment highlights our passion for market-fresh ingredients, honest cooking, and an enjoyable atmosphere. Our menu features a selection of dishes, all made in-house by our team of talented chefs, with some of the most delicious combinations of ingredients,” the website shares in a brief introduction.

On the menu are Haitian staples such as jerk wings, calamari, fried snapper, and griot — “a flavorful and indulgent specialty that holds a significant place in Haitian cuisine” made by marinating, braising, and then frying pork shoulder.

T’Chaka is slated to open in early September. Follow the eatery on Instagram for updates.
