The Lumpia Company — a Filipino fast-casual concept known for its savory fried spring rolls — is planning to open a new Oakland outpost. According to a recent beer and wine license application, the eatery is coming to 288 9th Avenue, near the historical monument 9th Avenue Terminal and the Township Commons park.

Founded in 2015 by Alex Retodo, with the rapper E-40 as a co-owner, The Lumpia Company already has an existing brick-and-mortar outpost in Oakland, a food truck in San Francisco, and a stand at the San Francisco Giants’ Oracle Park. Patrons can also enjoy its lumpias at Local Kitchens throughout Mountain View, Palo Alto, San Jose, Cupertino, and Lafayette.
In addition to traditional-style lumpias, filled with pork & shrimp, for example, the menu also offers a variety of innovative flavors with an American twist — including bacon cheeseburger, chicken tinola, turkey & veggies, and peach mango cobbler — in addition to grilled meat skewers and chicken wings.
What Now San Francisco reached out to Retodo, but was unable to gather more information before the time of publication. For additional updates, follow the eatery on Facebook and Instagram.
