A new sandwich shop is headed to Oakland. The Saint Sandwich Shop, owned by Saint — or SJ — Boney, is aiming to open by mid-June at 3016 MacArthur Boulevard in Oakland’s Dimond District.
The menu will be Italian-inspired, according to Boney, with lots of local California flair, and in addition to sandwiches, will include salads, charcuterie, desserts, wine, and beer.
The space, which was once a hair salon, neighbors Mixed Martial Arts BRAVO ZULU and Oakbrand, USA Screen Printing.
Nearby are Loard’s Ice Cream, Wawa Thai Food, and The Food Mill, but there’s a serious lack of sandwich shops in the area — a sin that, apparently, only a Saint could fix.
