Palo Alto is slated to receive its first Nepalese restaurant, RARA, this fall, according to a recently submitted beer and wine license application.
Coming to 201 California Avenue, the eatery will soon neighbor establishments such as Pizza Boulevard, Protégé, and Vitality Bowls.
Co-Owner Sabin Basyal confirms the findings and shares with What Now San Francisco that the modern, casual eatery will offer appetizers such as momos and akhbare wings, as well as plates including choila and Mustang ko aalu.
Basyal also mentions a combo option called Rara Special Thali which will include daal, bhaat, tarkari, achaar, and a choice of lamb, chicken, or fish — and, to wash it all down, patrons will be able to choose from a selection of local craft beer and Napa wine.
“This is just a glimpse; there’s more to come,” adds Basyal.
The space will boast a wet bar, indoor and outdoor seating, and, as Basyal puts it, “a Nepalese vibe.”
RARA will host a soft opening in late October and is planning to officially open in November.
