El Fogon Taco Shop, a family-owned Mexican restaurant, is expanding — planning to open its second Santa Rosa location.
Coming to 6576 Oakmont Drive, El Fogon will take over a space currently home to Mei-Don Chinese Cuisine, just up the highway from eateries such as Palooza Brewery & Gastropub, TIPS Roadside, and Zapata Grill.
This will mark the concept’s third outpost in total — joining the existing Santa Rosa spot at 623 4th Street as well as one in Rohnert Park.
Owner and Chef Jose Rodriguez tells What Now San Francisco that he is currently working on obtaining permits and that the restaurant will open around the beginning of December.
On the menu, patrons can expect to find burritos, elotes, tacos, tortas, and tostilocos, as well as classic Mexican plates such as birria, carne asada, carnitas, and enchiladas.
