“I think we’ll pay substantially less rent and have better sales,” Chen tells the journal, adding, “We’ll be able to do business on a more geographically well-located location and have lunch business.”

The announcement emerges amid a legal battle between Chen and China Live’s landlord, Cypress Properties, who has filed three lawsuits against China Live since 2022 for rent evasion and breach of contract, according to the San Francisco Business Times.

What Now San Francisco reached out to Chen to inquire about the upcoming eatery, as well as China Live’s ongoing legal predicament, but he could not provide further information before publication.
