Taking over a 700-square-foot space at 3862 24th Street — near establishments such as Holey Bagel, Martha & Brothers Coffee Company, and Saru Sushi Bar — the outpost is slated to open this spring.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the business, Banan was founded in 2015 by Matt Hong and Zak Barry in Oahu, Hawaii.

The concept is best known for its Banan bowls, which are “made with a base of frozen bananas and other tropical fruits, blended together with other ingredients like kale, ginger, and mint,” and then “topped with granola or macadamia butter (or both) and served in a ‘boat’ of papaya or pineapple,” the San Francisco Business Times shares.

What Now San Francisco reached out to Barry to inquire about the expansion, but he could not provide additional information before publication.
