Taking over a 400-square-foot space at 1327 Mason Street, the concept will land near establishments such as AltoVino, Cafe Isabella, and the clothing store Presidio Post.

“The owner of Millbrae’s Vineyard Gate will showcase brilliant Japanese wines to San Franciscans,” the article shares, referring to Alex Bernardo.

He tells the publication, “I want to replicate the sake bars I go to in Kyoto: very quiet places, places where you go to really enjoy and not to have a disco party.”

“The new bar will serve craft sake, including ones that Bernardo helps import to the U.S. He’ll pour a “one of a kind” blended sake made from eight sakes brewed at different years, as well as an unpasteurized sparkling white sake,” the report continues.

Vineyard Gate Sake Bar is slated to open in January. Stay tuned for updates.
