Sonoma Eats has been serving some of the most satisfying Mexican cuisine in Sonoma County for the last few years. Before they moved into their space along Highway 12, they operated as a catering business and food truck, the latter of which would often pop up at Barking Dog Roasters.

Now, Sonoma Eats is returning to Barking Dog permanently. At the beginning of April, they will begin moving into 18133 Highway 12 and should be back in business by May at the latest. Sonoma Eats will be taking over the underutilized kitchen and sharing the space with the coffee roasters.

Owner Efrain Balmes tells What Now San Francisco that this will be a huge upgrade for Sonoma Eats. He says even though there will be two businesses on site, the space is still a lot bigger than where they’re at currently.

It’s good news for customers, who will now have more places to park and more room—both indoors and outdoors—to dine. A larger space means there’s opportunity for expansion and that’s exactly what Balmes intends to do with the menu after they’re all settled in.

Eventually, he plans to extend operating hours to the morning to offer breakfast and brunch, which would be the perfect complement to Barking Dog’s local roasts. Balmes’s fresh Oaxacan and Latin-fusion cuisine has earned a loyal fanbase over the years.

When you don’t have time to dine-in, you can even order homemade tamales and enchiladas to heat and eat at home. Check out the menu on their website and follow @sonoma_eats on Instagram and Facebook for updates.

You have a tpyo in the address. In the second paragraph it should be 18133. The address at the bottom is correct. Thanks for staying on top of local happenings!
