Some sad news has recently emerged for fans of the Star-Wars themed Seven Stars Bar in San Jose. Operating for nearly a decade, the owners sadly announced on Facebook on August 27th that they were closing their doors for good. Fans were devastated to see their favorite bar so empty, but thankfully that space will not remain vacant for much longer.

Hour Bar is a brand new bar that will replacing Seven Stars at 398 S Bascom Avenue. Owned and operated by husband-and-wife-team Andrew and Danielle Burfine, Hour Bar is expected to be a sports bar dedicated to their favorite hockey team – the San Jose Sharks.

Andrew is also the League Operator of the Silicon Valley BCA Pool League, so Hour Bar is expected to feature plenty of pool tables for would-be sharks. And speaking of Sharks, Andrew and Danielle are massive supporters of the San Jose Sharks, and their bar will be sure to cater to other like-minded individuals, especially on game nights.

Andrew was not able to share too much information with What Now San Francisco, as he is still very early into the process. He estimates that he’s at least 40 days away from considering opening, if not more. The future of Seven Stars Bar though, remains ambiguous. The owners have announced their intention to preserve the bar and move it to a new location, though they haven’t announced where yet. Hopefully, it will be a little closer than a Galaxy Far Far Away…
