Tea O’Clock is an exciting new café/tea shop that is expected to arrive at 3420 Balboa Street. Owned by restaurateur Lili Rong, Tea O’clock is a welcome addition to the charming neighborhood.

At the moment, 3420 Balboa Street is currently home to Jiangnan Cuisine, a popular Shanghainese restaurant in the Outer Richmond. Jiangnan Cuisine was known for serving up flavorful, spicy meat dishes like homemade meatballs and ribs. Jiangnan cultivated quite a positive reputation during its years of operation, and now it remains unclear what will happen to it. Jiangnan is still open for business as of the writing of this article and they have yet to make any announcements regarding their future plans on social media.

Regardless, Lili has already successfully applied for the licenses necessary to open Tea O’Clock on 3420 Balboa Street. Located squarely between 35th Avenue and 36th Avenue, Tea O’Clock will be facing some stiff competition. it will be opening right next door to Simple Pleasures Café, which specializes in Coffee, Bagels, and Espresso. It will be interesting to see how a new tea shop fares next door.

Not much else is known about Tea O’Clock at this moment but that’s okay. We’ve still got plenty of time to wait for more information, and I won’t apologize for making the same joke twice.
