Founded in 2016 by Benjamin Ruiz, Mimosas Café set out to provide a space where customers could enjoy quality drinks with freshly prepared breakfasts and lunches. The café is known for serving an assortment of all kinds of foods. From sandwiches to ceviche and from French toast to chilaquiles, Mimosas truly has something to offer for everyone. Famous for their massive, oversized mimosas and premium drink options, the café has become a favorite weekend hangout among locals.
Mimosas Café is steadily expanding their San Jose presence with this new location. Already boasting a location in Stockton and Campbell, the Alameda store would become Mimosas Café’s second San Jose location.
Owner Ben Ruiz has been busy this year expanding his restaurant empire. In addition to the new Mimosas, he just launched a new breakfast concept called Bacon N Eggs that opened up just a few days ago at Blossom Hill.
The new Mimosas Café will be replacing Sushi Infinity, which previously operated in the space between 2009 and 2020 and was known for serving all-you-can-eat sushi at affordable prices. Mimosa’s Café hasn’t updated their website with the new location yet, indicating that they are still some ways away from opening.
While you wait for the new café, consider visiting one of their other locations at Stockton or Campbell. Just keep your ears on alert, if you start hearing the sound of “Tequila!” coming from the kitchen, you may be in store for some shots.
