Gao’s Crab & Kabob will set up shop at 1741 N Milpitas Boulevard, previously home to Mint & Basil, a Vietnamese eatery. The new outpost will sit between Chick & Tea and My No.1 Sushi and Tofu.

Gao’s Crab & Kabob currently has two restaurant locations in Houston, one in Chicago, and one in New York City. The chain’s various locations describe themselves as “specializing in Chinese BBQ dishes,” an “authentic Chinese charcoal grill restaurant and bar,” and known for “mouth-watering charcoal grilled kabobs and Cajun style seafood boils.”

Details about an opening date and plans for the space have not yet been announced, but — one thing is for certain — the Milpitas location will be available as a late-night spot for skewered meats, seafood, and sake. The hours at all locations remain fairly consistent — they are open from about 4 pm and 5 pm to around 2 am, seven days a week.
