A new bar focused on sparkling wines and champagnes is coming soon to Walnut Creek. Fizz Champagne & Bubbles Bar is the newest tenant at 1652 Bonanza St., where they’ve just applied for their ABC license.
Fizz was founded in Sacramento by Raymond James Irwin, whose passion for champagne began when he tried his first small house champagne while working at L’albatros Brasserie + Bar in Cleveland, Ohio. This passion took him all over the world, as he set out to find the most unique champagnes and sparkling wines for his own bar in 2016.
Fizz Champagne & Bubbles Bar offers more than 150 varieties of champagnes and sparkling wines by the bottle, plus 20 offerings by the glass. Their selections come from both small and large producers all over the world, ensuring that you’re always in for a new experience on each visit.
Irwin tells What Now San Francisco that he is bringing the same concept to Walnut Creek and adds, “It’s going to be the most unique bubble-forward wine bar in the East Bay.” He expects to welcome customers by the end of September.
