Michael and Lindsay Tusk, the owners of Michelin-starred restaurant Quince, are debuting a new concept in Jackson Square. The cafe is coming to 596 Pacific Avenue, just up the street from Quince and another of the Tusks’ restaurants, Cotogna. Other relevant neighboring establishments include Brioche Bakery & Café, Réveille Coffee Co., and Tosca Cafe.

According to the San Francisco Business Times, the unnamed concept will be a health-conscious cafe and gelato spot — a new direction for the Tusks, whose present restaurants, Quince and Cotogna, are an upscale Californian and an Italian eatery.

Nevertheless, with a three-Michelin-star restaurant and the title “Best Chef in the Pacific” by the James Beard Foundation, Chef Michael Tusk is sure to impress.

An opening date has not yet been announced — and What Now San Francisco was unable to contact the Tusks before the time of publication — but a building permit application reveals that $150,000 will be spent on renovations, so it is reasonable to assume the project won’t open until later this year.
