Now that plywood previously covering the building’s facade has been removed, signage at the entry reveals that the cafe plans to make a comeback — intentions further confirmed by the Stonemill Matcha website, where the coffee shop lists its status as “progressing towards reopening.”

A report by SF Eater states, “The owner of ramen shop Taishoken has taken over the business and its name, with plans to install Taishoken chef Yosuke Tajiri to run the cafe.”

“The cafe will retain its previous food menu,” the article continues — meaning locals can expect to find match-based desserts and beverages, as well as Japanese dishes and sandwiches.

The reopening date has not been announced yet so stay tuned for updates.
