Prelude will offer “Southern-inspired contemporary cuisine” with a menu that “features dishes inspired by Hendrickson-Jones’s grandmother and great-grandmother and based on family recipes,” the Journal reports.

The article continues, “Hendrickson-Jones will employ his cooking background in the dishes as well, creating an innovative menu that crosses California produce with the nostalgic food of his childhood.”

For readers who are unfamiliar with Hendrickson-Jones, the chef formerly worked at Niku Steakhouse and Commis — a fine dining establishment known for “open-kitchen experiments with unique ingredients to craft inspired New American fixed-price dinners.”

Prelude is slated to open this summer. Stay tuned for updates.
