Originating in 1995 in Colorado, when it was then known as Zuma Fresh Mexican Grill, the restaurant was acquired by Jack in the Box restaurants in the early 2000s. Ownership of the brand was most recently handed over to Apollo Global Management in 2018.

Qdoba Mexican Eats specializes in Mexican-inspired menu items such as burritos, bowls, quesadillas and fresh salads. While they have a considerable selection of “Signature Eats,” the chain is known for their build-your-own option in which customers can customize their meals with over 30 high-quality ingredients.

The timing of our tip suggests that Qdoba might open in Walnut Creek as early as this spring. Representatives for the restaurant chain could not be reached for comment at the time of publication. For more information, visit www.qdoba.com.
