Korean fried chicken franchise Pelicana Chicken has established over 2,000 locations in South Korea since 1982, but since its franchise operation began in the US in 2014, only a handful of US locations have cropped up, most of which are in New York. As of right now, the fried chicken kingdom only has one California spot, in Buena Park, but it looks like that’s about to change.

A liquor license has been filed for Pelicana Chicken in Cupertino’s Main Street shopping center. The space, at 19540 Vallco Parkway, shares a plaza with ramen shop Ippudo Cupertino, Myungrang Hot Dog, and Korean soft-served ice cream shop SomiSomi.

A franchisee was not immediately available for comment, and no opening date has been announced, but there’s truly no such thing as too much fried chicken, so the sooner we can get our hands on one of their signature crispy spicy chicken sandwiches, the better.
