Kilgore tells What Now San Francisco that Ama will offer Itameshi cuisine (Japanese-Italian fusion), “serving dishes like banana-miso toro and pork belly in ’70s-style hi-fi lounge surroundings,” according to Eater. A robust handmade pasta program will be offered alongside an artisanal cocktail menu and, ambience-wise, the eatery will offer various dining rooms and bars, vintage pinball machines, and a DJ booth for vinyls.

Coming to Transamerica Three at 600 Montgomery Street, the eatery will land near establishments such as Amador Club, Proper Food, and Viva Cafe.

For readers who are unfamiliar with Kilgore, the chef operates The Kilgore Culinary Group, which is comprised of four Miami-based restaurants including the Japanese-inspired cocktail lounge Kaido, Ember, Alter, and the contemporary Italian restaurant Brava.

Ama is slated to open in December. Stay tuned for updates.
