Everett & Jones Barbeque is headed for Graton Resort & Casino in Sonoma County, SF Chronicle reports. This will be the first North Bay location for the family-owned restaurant, making a total of four locations for the chain.
Everett & Jones was founded in Oakland in 1973 by Dorothy Everett. Over the years, their smoked pork ribs, beef brisket, chicken and sausages have led them to become recognized in the community as one of East Bay’s top barbecue spots.
“We’ve been in ballparks, the Shoreline Amphitheatre and festivals, but never in a casino,” Dorothy’s grandson Shamar Cotton tells the Chronicle. “It’s a great opportunity for myself and my family to expand the brand and keep our family’s legacy going.”
Cotton currently operates the Berkeley outpost and will be in charge of this new location, which he plans to open by the start of summer. Everett & Jones will be in good company at their newest digs. Graton Resort & Casino is host to other formidable Bay Area dining spots, such as Boathouse Asian Eatery and Tony’s of North Beach.
