Boba drink chain Boba Luv is opening its second location in California — coming to 1305 Gateway Boulevard in Fairfield this summer.
Franchisee Heather Yang tells What Now San Francisco, “We stumbled upon this location. We’re looking forward to being in such a high-traffic area.”
Landing between restaurants Hibachi Grill & Buffet and Ohana Hawaiian Barbecue, and just across the street from Gateway Plaza shopping mall, Boba Luv is on track to become a popular fast-casual dining destination.
For readers who are unfamiliar with the chain, the company’s website provides a brief introduction. Established in 2019 in Rexburg, Idaho as a food truck, Boba Luv describes itself as “one of the first many bubble tea shops and brands that originated in the U.S.” Since then, the business has expanded to five locations throughout Utah, Idaho, and California.
In addition to boba tea, Boba Luv offers “a variety of tea drinks from fruit teas, milk teas, galaxy drinks, smoothies, fruit juices, slushies, and specialty and seasonal drinks.”
Yang shares that she and her siblings intend to customize the outpost’s food menu to revolve around Hmong-Lao cuisine, “something that’s lacking in the San Francisco area.”
Offerings will include appetizers, a family recipe for pho, some stir-fry dishes, traditional-style papaya salad, and Hmong sausage — a pork sausage seasoned with ginger, cilantro, chiles, and garlic.
Currently working to acquire permits, Boba Luv in Fairfield is slated to open before the end of July. In the meantime, follow the tea shop’s Instagram for additional updates.
