The Tasman East District is planned as a mixed-use community with up to 4,500 residences in a mix of architecturally distinctive mid-rises and high-rises; up to 100,000 square feet of food and beverage and retail; and 10 acres of parks and open spaces all connected by well landscaped greenways, sidewalks and a pedestrian walk street featuring an outdoor performance venue. The neighborhood is adjacent to regional transit and walkable to shopping, dining and entertainment at the city center of Related Santa Clara’s 9 million square mixed-use master plan and Levi’s Stadium.

AVE, a brand of Korman Communities, specializes in best-in-class apartment living, as well as fully furnished, amenitized apartments with month-to-month leases. The one-of-a-kind development features the ultimate in resident services, convenience and flexibility with unprecedented, on-demand business and resort amenity space.

“When AVE Santa Clara opens to residents in 2025, it will be the anchor and gateway for the Tasman East District,” said Tyson Sayles, Principal Multifamily & Mixed-Use Properties, Ensemble Real Estate Investments in a statement. “With the well-documented housing shortage in Santa Clara Valley, we couldn’t be more thrilled to bring this unparalleled project and its exceptional walkable lifestyle community to the worldwide center of innovation.”

An ideal place to live for hybrid work in the heart of Silicon Valley, with its urban sensibility and proximity to major tech campuses – including Apple, Facebook, Nvidia and Google – AVE Santa Clara will build community through its human-centric design, its premier location and connectivity.

The development will comprise of:

  • 311 luxury apartment homes (100+ fully furnished apartments for stays of 30 days or longer and 200+ unfurnished luxury apartments)
  • 15,000 square feet of retail space featuring an anchor restaurant, boutique grocery and café, coffee roastery, group fitness and beauty/grooming
  • 14,000-square-foot indoor/outdoor beer and food garden with games
  • State-of-the-art, on-demand business amenities including flex workspace, a 24/7 business center, café, private conference rooms available for reservation, and high-speed Wi-Fi throughout all community spaces
  • Wellness amenities including a two-story fitness center featuring top-of-the-line cardio and strength equipment, a yoga studio, group fitness classes, bike share and on-demand streaming fitness programming
  • Resort-style, indoor/outdoor community amenities featuring pool and Zen courtyards, fully equipped kitchens, fire pit and gaming lounges, and an “Adventure Hub” with outdoor recreation equipment for resident use including paddleboards, bikes, camping gear and kayaks

“We are excited for the AVE Santa Clara development, which will continue the progress toward building critical housing in Silicon Valley. The future of hybrid housing is essential to promote both work and play, connecting our residents to the growing regional transportation hub, and also providing a community to the expanding technology sector right here in the City of Santa Clara, the Center of What’s Possible. We are thrilled to break ground for this future mixed-use development in Santa Clara for multi-generations to enjoy,” said Mayor Lisa M. Gillmor.

Designed, programmed, and built for the future, AVE Santa Clara aspires to achieve LEED Silver certification and will be smart, connected, and integrated – with a mix of solar energy, smart thermostats/lighting, and EV chargers – for the ultimate in green living.

“Ensemble’s multifamily/mixed-use real estate portfolio is rapidly expanding. With four multifamily projects completed in the past three years and 5,000 units in our pipeline, Ensemble will bring our expertise in this sector to AVE Santa Clara, applying the best urban and suburban design to create a dense but open pedestrian community with great transit, open space and connectivity to regional destinations,” said Steve Edwards, Senior Vice President of Lifestyle Development, Ensemble. “With the scale, critical mass and unique adjacencies, it will be unlike any other community in the United States.”

“We are proud to partner with Ensemble on this project as our organizations share a vision of developing and operating first-class residential properties that support how people want to live today,” said Brad Korman, co-CEO of Philadelphia-based Korman Communities. “AVE has been successfully operating out of the East Bay since 2017 and we know there is demand in Santa Clara for more housing options. We’re excited to bring our unique, flexible, hospitality-driven living solution to the South Bay.”
