What Now San Francisco contacted Perez to inquire about the acquisition, but she could not provide additional information before publication.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the Mexican food chain, an introduction on the Aliberto’s Jr. website shares, “Our food started in San Diego, California,” and continues, “We are recognized for the enormous amount of food that we give in our dishes at a very low price compared to those in most restaurants.”

“Our food is fresh, we do not cook with butter, [and] our burritos are the largest,” the eatery shares, adding, “We are also the creators of the Carne asada fries.”

Whether the transfer of ownership will affect the menu or hours of operation is still unclear. Follow Aliberto’s Jr. Fresh Mexican Food on Facebook for updates.
