Distrito Federal is going to be a high-end tequila bar serving elevated Mexican street food. The concept is brought to us by owner Isaac Barrera, who has had previous experience opening restaurants in the Bay Area.
Barerra tells What Now San Francisco that they are about to begin a full makeover on the space this week. If all goes according to plan, he hopes to open Distrito Federal this spring. Until then he has a lot to prepare, which is why further details about the new restaurant are scant at the moment.
We will post an update as soon as new information is acquired. Keep an eye on this address to see how things are coming along and follow @df_campbell on Instagram for updates.
Editor’s Note: We have regretfully misled readers in regards to Barrera’s involvement with LUNA Mexican Eatery, which is owned solely by Jo and John Lopez. This prompted a follow-up conversation with Barrera, who clarified that he formerly partnered with the Lopezes in 2017 to help out with LUNA’s beginnings. However, as of 2021 he is no longer affiliated with them in any way, shape, or form. Additionally, this article has been updated with Distrito Federal’s Instagram page and a new opening timeframe.
