A new business called Tip-Sea is taking over the former Lemon Tree at 2542 Santa Clara Ave. in Alameda, according to a pending ABC application found in state public records. Owner Deepak Aggarwal, who owns Berkeley’s East Bay Spice Co., has confirmed that a new venture is in the works.

Aggarwal tells What Now San Francisco that Tip-Sea will first and foremost be a craft cocktail bar. He just filed a demolition permit on the space and expects to start construction within the next 10 days, adding that the entire project could take anywhere from three to five months. That said, we will likely see Tip-Sea open to the public in Spring 2022

With opening quite a ways into the future, Tip-Sea is very much in its early planning stages. Aggarwal did say that he intends to start out primarily as a cocktail bar, but may eventually incorporate a menu of light snacks and street food.

We’re sure that Tip-Sea is going to be a hit, based on the ongoing success of East Bay Spice Co. The stylish Berkeley restaurant and bar is not only known for their cocktail menu, but also for serving Indian street food cooked in a Tandoor oven. Until Tip-Sea is ready for its debut, perhaps check out East Bay Spice Co. at Berkeley’s Oxford Street Parklet for a possible taste of what’s to come.
