The Mission’s own Upfordayz café and juice bar is planning a second location at 1801 Polk St., according to permits filed with the City of San Francisco. Owner Rawan Shamieh confirmed the expansion to Nob Hill, adding that they hope to open by the third quarter of 2022.

Upfordayz was founded by the Shamieh family, who upon moving to the Bay were in search of high-quality roasts and a simple, freshly pressed cup of juice. Having roasted coffee since 1969 in their native Jerusalem, they decided to open Upfordayz in March of 2019.
Since then, the café has become a favorite coffee and juice hangout in the Mission. They specialize in serving a variety of roasts that are low in acidity with no dry aftertaste. Customers can pick their favorite blend and have it brewed just the way they like it, whether that be via chemex, V60, seraphim, french press, or syphon.
They also have a full espresso bar, a selection of loose leaf teas, and a wide variety of juice blends made only with fresh fruits and vegetables. Upfordayz also serves food, baking their own bread for customer favorites like the OMG Sandwich, with avocado, egg and pomegranate, or the Wellness Sandwich, which has avocado, radish, egg, sweet potato and pesto.
The Nob Hill location is still to undergo significant remodeling that will include space for their coffee bar and roasting equipment, room for baking their bread, as well as an area for indoor seating. We’re sure this will be a welcome addition to the neighborhood late next summer.
