The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill, a restaurant specializing in classic Mediterranean fare with a modern twist, opened a new location in San Ramon at 2475 San Ramon Valley Blvd., suite 11, in Diablo Plaza. The eatery is the second of its kind to open under the leadership of local owner Amarendra “Amar” Thummeti, who debuted the first location of The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill in Danville with the help of his wife and family earlier this year.

“We’re excited to open our second restaurant and expand access to healthier dining options in the San Ramon Valley,” said Thummeti, an information technology professional turned restauranteur who also owns an IT consulting firm in a statement. “We knew when we opened this restaurant that we wanted to be different and we’re proud of our commitment to prioritizing freshness, quality, convenience and customer service, so we can give our community the very best.”
Fulfilling its mission to Live Your Life Deliciously, The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill offers a unique menu reinterpreting classic Mediterranean dishes that are served in an elevated fast-casual atmosphere. Everything is prepared in-house with high-quality ingredients that bring traditional flavors from recipes that have been passed down for generations.
Guests enjoy popular selections, like the Great Greek Gyro as well as lamb, steak and chicken Souvlaki plates. Each entrée pairs perfectly with the eatery’s fresh Greek salads and signature house-made dips, including Hummus, Tzatziki, Melitzanosalata (eggplant dip) and Tirokafteri (spicy roasted red pepper). The variety of customizable options, including the Rice Bowl with a choice of gyro meat, salmon and more, offer something for everyone. Guests can also indulge in made-to-order, fresh Feta Fries and desserts like Baklava Ice Cream and Rice Pudding.
The Great Greek Mediterranean Grill specializes in catering large parties, events and meetings. It curates Mediterranean spreads with bold flavors. Choose from build-your-own Gyros and savory Souvlaki Skewers accompanied by buttery Rice Pilaf, crisp Greek Salad, authentic dips and desserts like Baklava to impress guests at any event.
The San Ramon restaurant seats 45 guests in the dining room and 10 on its patio. It is open Monday through Thursday 11 a.m. – 9 p.m. and Friday through Sunday 11 a.m. – 10 p.m. Delivery is available through DoorDash, EZCater, GrubHub and Uber Eats.
