Tasty Express has set up shop at 2116 Shattuck Ave. in downtown Berkeley, according to a recent zoning permit found in city public records. Tasty Express has moved into the 2,400 square-foot restaurant space, formerly home to Famous Bao and Burritos before that.

Owner Zeng Zhong has confirmed plans for Tasty Express, telling What Now San Francisco that they will be ready to open next week on December 28th. Zhong adds that their restaurant will be self-serve, offering customers tried and true Chinese joint recipes for dine-in and takeaway.
Tasty Express is certain to become a hot spot for lunch breaks and quick meals on the go. Despite their fast-approaching opening, certain aspects of the business are still under development, including a website and social media.
With this information in mind, it’s possible that Tasty Express has plans to get on all the basic food delivery apps, which would be essential for nearby Cal students and their late-night study sessions.
