Owner Charlie Truong previously worked as Executive Chef at PPQ Dungeness Island, which was a member of the PPQ restaurant family that served fresh crab dinner with a Vietnamese flair. PPQ, or Pho Phu Quoc, began 15 years ago as a Beef & Noodle House in Inner Sunset. Famed for their heaping servings and full-flavored broths, PPQ ‘s success enabled them to expand and grow their own family of restaurants.

Unfortunately, one of those restaurants has since closed. Swamp was a popular member of the PPQ family that featured Asian-Cajun seafood fusion. Known for serving dishes like gumbo, alligator, and PPQ’s famous garlic noodles, Swamp was a Richmond staple that locals were sad to say goodbye to.

Fortunately for those locals though, Chef Truong has big plans in store. Truong, who also served as the Business Development Manager at Swamp for five years, is planning on opening Burrito & Wings Inc. at the former site of Swamp – 5423 Geary Boulevard.

It is unclear at the moment whether or not Burrito & Wings Inc. will be part of the PPQ family or just an independent project operated entirely by Chef Truong. Regardless, this new venture is bound to excite fans of Truong’s signature cooking.

No word has been given as to when Truong intends to open his new restaurant as it appears his team is too early into the process to finalize any details. If you’re interested in learning more about Chef Truong’s style of cooking in the meantime, then visit PPQ Dungeness at Millbrae and be sure to try the garlic noodles that made them famous.
