Now operating as Coffee Out There, the company is planning to move into the recently expanded Indigo Vintage Co-op where they intend to operate a service counter.
Founded by Erica Lehneis, Coffee Out There began by selling cans of ready-to-to-drink cold brew coffee and single-origin beans direct to customers online and at various pop-ups. They also recently launched a CBD Cold Brew collection that features a 4-pack of their signature single-origin cold brew with an additional 25 MG of CBD.
Always concerned with the ethics of her business practice, Erica ensures that 15% of all sales of CBD coffee is donated directly to The Bail Project, which seeks to combat mass incarceration by disrupting the existing cash bail system.
Now, Erica is moving Coffee Out There to its first permanent, physical location. Teaming up with Mel Willis, the founder of Indigo Vintage, Erica will be serving her specialty coffee right out of Indigo’s recently expanded Haight Street location on 1649 Haight Street.
Indigo Vintage was founded back in 2018 to connect communities with thoughtfully curated goods and to provide a progressive platform for small businesses to flourish. Entirely female-owned and operated, Indigo Vintage is dedicated to promoting women, queer people and people of color, and fostering an inclusive space in which all people can thrive.
Coffee Out There has been running a soft launch the past month, testing out new lattes and teas while Indigo Vintage has been finishing its expansion. Now, Coffee Out There will be operating full time out of the Haight Street Indigo Vintage location. For interested parties who live too far away from Haight Street, you can still order their coffee online directly from the company.
