Sonoma News recently reported that the operator will be Romy Uppal, a Sourdough & Co. franchisee “who owns 14 locations across the North Bay Area.”
The upcoming Sonoma shop is part of a substantial Sourdough & Co. expansion — it’s one of 17 new locations planned for California, with another eatery coming to 6774 Bernal Avenue #3 in Pleasanton, next to a Panda Express, a Jamba Juice, and The Habit Burger Grill.
For readers who are unfamiliar, Sourdough & Co. is a California-based specialty soup, salad, and sandwich franchise that has been around since 2008. The menu offers traditional sandwiches, specialty sandwiches — like the french dip and the smoked brisket — and a variety of soup options served in bread bowls. Additionally, the chain serves gourmet salads and mac and cheese.
An opening date has not yet been announced, but Uppal tells Sonoma News that he hopes to have the restaurant open for business within the next few months. What Now San Francisco was unable to contact the franchisee for comment.
