Bay Area’s own Sliver Pizza, “a healthier alternative to the mainstream pizzeria,” is opening a new location at 2064 Antioch Court in Oakland. The address was previously home to a Peet’s Coffee, and neighboring establishments include Sophie’s Cuppa Tea, Flippers Gourmet Burgers, Kakui Sushi, and Perle Wine Bar and Restaurant.

In addition to the Antioch Court address, the pizzeria chain is expanding to Fremont, where it will open its first outpost at 3658 Capitol Avenue on the ground floor of Locale at State Street. The residential building is a project by TMG Partners and Sares-Regis Group of Northern California, who are also developing a community events center right across the street.

According to the restaurant’s website, “Sliver offers a healthier alternative to the mainstream pizzeria by focusing on fresh produce as our primary source of ingredients, instead of meat products.” The Sliver Pizza menu offers 14-inch corn, tomato, potato, or mushroom pizzas, with vegan and gluten-free options. Customers can also order pizza by the half, by the slice, salads, veggie nachos, waffle fries, seasonal baked veggies, corn on the cob, and cheese plates — and have a cookie, a brownie, or gelato for dessert.

While the Capitol Avenue address will be Sliver Pizza’s first Fremont outpost, the Antioch Court spot marks its third location in Oakland. Opening dates for the two new sites have not yet been announced.
