Scott’s Chowder House is the latest restaurant to take over 1325 Fillmore St., SFist reports. An offshoot of Bay Area legend Scott’s Seafood, Scott’s Chowder House was created in 2020 as a way to offer their loyal customers their favorite food and soup options in a take-out format.
With two outposts in San Jose and one that opened last fall on Grant Street, Scott’s Chowder House on Fillmore will be the restaurant’s fourth location. Owner Stephen Mayer tells What Now San Francisco that this latest location should be ready in about three months, so we can expect an opening this spring.
Mayer says that each Scott’s Chowder House is slightly different in terms of its menu due to their varying locales. The restaurant focuses on serving high-quality, healthy food options ensuring that their ingredients are mindfully sourced in line with social and environmental sustainability.
Menus are developed by Scott’s Seafood executive chef Samuel Reyes, in collaboration with their culinary advisor, Michelin-starred chef Laurent Manrique. Whether you prefer Manhattan- or Boston-style clam chowder, Scott’s Chowder House has a hearty soup to satisfy you, plus a fresh selection of salads and sandwich rolls.
While all the current locations are take-out focused, Mayer says the upcoming Fillmore Street spot is larger in square-footage and therefore will have more of a restaurant setting with an option to dine-in. There will be counter service in which customers order food at the register and have it delivered to their tables.
Mayer adds that in addition to this location, plans for an additional take-out shop in Palo Alto are also in the works, scheduled to open in late spring. For more information, visit www.scottschowderhouse.com and follow them on Instagram and Facebook for updates.
