Owned by husband-and-wife-team Hiroshi Tun and Angela Yanase, Ramen Hiroshi began back in 2015, becoming the first ramen house to open in Walnut Creek. Patrons fell in love almost instantaneously with Hiroshi’s savory broths and 15-hour-boiled bones.

Hiroshi was soon able to expand to San Ramon and Alameda over the next few years, where they continued to wow customers with some of the best ramen that could be found in the East Bay. Ramen Hiroshi quickly cultivated a reputation for using only fresh, seasonal ingredients and for taking the extra time necessary for slow-cooking their meats.

Now, San Francisco residents are about to get a taste of the ramen that made such a splash in the East Bay. Ramen Hiroshi is gearing up to open a brand new restaurant at 322 Kearny Street, becoming the first Ramen Hiroshi to open up in San Francisco.

The new Ramen Hiroshi will be replacing Sini, which previously operated in the space at 322 Kearny. Sini was a popular halal restaurant that specialized in Turkish street food, and it operated from 2017 until July 2020 when it was forced to shut its doors in response to the global pandemic.

Hiroshi’s most popular dish is the aptly named Hiroshi Tonkotsu Ramen, which features pork bone broth simmered for 16 hours topped with Berkshire pork belly slices, marinated soft-boiled egg, lotus root, black mushroom, bamboo shoot, green onion and pickled red signature. To try out this signature dish before it comes to San Francisco, be sure to visit the original store in Walnut Creek to see what’s getting everybody so excited.
