Barrio Beer Bar & Latin Kitchen, with its unassuming, hole-in-the-wall disposition, has been dubbed a North Beach hidden gem by more than one Yelper.

Hailed for its made-from-scratch blue corn tortillas, ceviche, and unique assortment of craft beer (they often have brews from Russian River Brewery and Bare Bottle on tap), Barrio has become a neighborhood favorite, particularly during the COVID-19 pandemic, offering take-out and now outdoor seating.

And from the looks of it, Barrio is expanding — to 920 North Point Street, next to Ghirardelli Square and a short walk from Fisherman’s Warf. Given the foot traffic in the area, it’s safe to assume Barrio’s culinary reputation won’t stay “hidden” for much longer.

Co-owner Billy Riordan, who opened Barrio in 2018, has filed for permits at the above location, but did not immediately respond to a request for comment.
