Owner Kasem Saengsawang confirms Noka Ramen is scheduled to open doors in late January or early February of 2022, as they are currently working with CIM Group to make sure the building space is up to code. The new restaurant will have a tropical Asian theme, decorated to the brim with leafy green and earth elements in the same extravagant manner as other Farmhouse restaurants.

Saesawang started out in the restaurant industry working at a Japanese restaurant in Foster City. Familiar with Japanese culture and ingredients, he and his team are working on putting their own style on traditional ramen. Their ideas combine the whimsy Farmhouse is known for with high-quality recipes, such as making fresh noodles on site to create Rainbow Ramen.

“This is a new journey for the Farmhouse team,” Saesawang tells What Now San Francisco. “With each new journey, we want to tell a story and make connections with our guests, not only through their taste buds but through their dining experience also.”

Noka, which is a Japanese term for farmhouse-style dwellings (nōka or 農家), is the Farmhouse team’s first noodle house and foray into Japanese cuisine. They currently operate Farmhouse Kitchen, Hidden Place, Son & Garden, and Daughter & Thai, each with their own respective locations throughout the San Francisco Bay Area and Portland, Oregon. Stay tuned to farmhouseramen.com for an official announcement of their opening.
