The fast-casual restaurant, initially called Hinoya Curry, opened its original outpost at 3347 Fillmore Street in the Marina. While the name has changed, the menu has remained the same. Food options include popular Japanese curries like pork katsu and chicken karaage, and the beverage menu offers Japanese beer and sake.

Thomas Uehara, Chief Executive Officer at Zash Corporation, tells What Now San Francisco that the Nippon Curry team is currently working with architects to develop a floor plan for the SoMa spot. He predicts that the restaurant will be open for business sometime during the first quarter of 2023.

The upcoming Howard Street location is part of a larger Bay Area expansion, with a Berkeley Nippon Curry also on the way. Coming to 2512 Bancroft Way, Uehara predicts that it will open by the beginning of February 2023.

Open for lunch and dinner, the original location at 3347 Fillmore Street is open Monday through Friday from 11 am to 3 pm and 5 pm to 9 pm. On Saturday and Sunday the hours of operation are from 11 am to 9 pm.
