North San Jose’s Sendo Sushi will soon be replaced by a new business, but don’t worry — you will still be able to come to this spot for bites of sushi and gyoza. A new restaurant recently applied to take over Sendo Sushi’s beer and wine license at 3730 N. First St. The licensee is noted as “DS Sushiya.”

Owner Wook Dong confirmed with What Now San Francisco this week that his restaurant should be ready to open this fall. At the moment, the space will need a few months to undergo some renovations, not to mention the approval of the pending ABC license.

Wong says that their menu will still have sushi, but that “DS Sushiya” will be more of a full Japanese restaurant. In addition to other dishes, we can expect beer, wine, and sake on the menu as well.

The restaurant is located at the shopping center on First Street, between Nicholson Lane and Tasman Drive. If you happen to come here regularly for Von’s Chicken, Sri’s Kitchen, Halal Gyro Express & Kebabs or La Catalana, consider giving “DS Sushiya” a try on your next visit to the area.
