The space is sandwiched (get it?) between Irving Subs and The Yellow Submarine, which are three blocks west and east of the new Sunset Subs location, respectively.

Owner Crystina Lee, who owns Irving Subs and Valencia Subs in the Mission, says unlike her other two shops, which are takeout only, Sunset will have more of a dine-in vibe, offering counter service, seating, and some specialty drinks, including Italian sodas and coffee.

But while the layout might look a bit different, the subs will remain the same — which is to say, delicious. Both Irving Subs and Valencia Subs are local favorites, and we’re sure the new spot will knock the sub game out of the (Golden Gate) park, as well. And speaking of parks, what’s a picnic without a fat, oily Italian sub, anyway?
