Mins Group, which was founded by chef and restaurateur Min Choe, was first known for opening up Tamashisoul Sushi in the marina, and has since cultivated a substantial portfolio of successful restaurants.

Now it appears that they’ll be taking their newest concept, Sushi Sato, to 1122 Post Street, deep in the heart of Polk Gulch. Replacing the recently shuttered Maharani restaurant, Sushi Sato will be opening in a lively neighborhood with plenty of foot traffic.

The Mins Group has been unstoppable in recent years ever since they found massive success with Sushi Hon, one of San Francisco’s finest omakase restaurants. In this year alone the group has already launched two new restaurants, Sushi Hakko and Izakaya Hon. Now, on the heels of their latest openings, the group is already preparing their third restaurant this year.

Not much is known about Sushi Sato at the moment, not even the menu has been revealed yet. According to their website though, Sushi Sato will be open from Wednesday to Sunday, 5pm – midnight. No word has been given on the intended timeline for opening, but it is clear that the team is still very early into the process.
