The address for the new restaurant will be 198 Valencia Street in a condominium complex called 198 Valencia—across the street from Zeitgeist.

According to Tablehopper, Sakai and Jackson plan for Kuma Valencia to have a bar that offers 12 seats, in addition to 12 to 16 seats available at tables, but are still deciding whether or not additional outdoor seating will be available.

Sakai and Jackson describe themselves as longtime friends and chefs specializing in Japanese cuisine. They opened the first Kuma Sushi + Saki location, Kuma Polk, on the corner of Polk and Post in August 2017.

It’s not confirmed whether Kuma Valencia will follow suit, but Kuma Polk is open daily for lunch from 12:00 pm to 2 pm and for dinner from 5:30 pm to 10 pm. The menu is printed every day and changes to reflect availability and seasonality.

Tablehopper reports that Kuma Valencia is predicted to open by the summer of 2023
