The owners of Escape SF confirm that they are aiming to open in December, starting with the Gingerbread Cottage Escape Room. This seasonal game will be a lighthearted family-friendly escape room debuting at their original San Francisco location and as the first escape room at the new Palo Alto outpost.

According to a planning application filed with the City of Palo Alto, Escape SF would like to take over a corner building that was previously a co-working space known as Sandbox Suites. The unit’s layout with various office rooms lends itself to the format Escape SF’s business, so the company intends to take over the space as is.

Escape SF is known for their fun themes such as “Escape from Alcatraz” and a mafia speakeasy called “Blind Tiger.” Players get locked into rooms filled with various clues and puzzles, thus having to work together to solve them all in order to escape.

The company is also known for implementing the first-ever automated escape game that can be played at home, due to the restrictions caused by Covid-19. They have hosted over 8,500 corporate team building events through their San Francisco location alone so moving to Silicon Valley, where there is no shortage of corporate techies who could use some fun from time to time, seems like a no-brainer.
