San Jose’s dining scene welcomes a new two-story, tree-filled restaurant and bar — Eos & Nyx, set to open this November 20 in the heart of Downtown. This latest project comes from MO Hospitality Group, known for its roster of high-energy dining and nightlife venues in San Jose. The restaurant takes its name from the ancient Greek deities of dawn and night and will serve California cuisine with Mediterranean influences from 22 countries, including France, Spain, Italy, Greece, and North Africa, for both brunch and dinner.

“Eos & Nyx represents the next chapter for MO Hospitality in Downtown San Jose, a community we’ve been honored to be part of for years. Our goal has always been to create spaces that bring people together, and Eos & Nyx offers an exciting new way to experience community through incredible food, atmosphere, and hospitality,” said Dan, co-founder of MO Hospitality Group in a statement.
The coastal-inspired menu will be led by Executive Chef Nicko Moulinos, originally from Corfu, Greece. Moulinos will be leaving the culinary team, bringing extensive expertise honed at renowned restaurants like Eric Ripert’s Le Bernardin, Kwame Onwuachi’s Kith/Kin, and Taverna in Palo Alto. Moulinos and his team will prepare 95% of the menu in-house, following a philosophy of using ingredients in their entirety to minimize food waste.
The open wood-fired grill, fueled by almond wood and mesquite charcoal, imparts a unique, smoky depth to each dish—like the grilled lamb chops, marinated in fresh herbs and served alongside charred seasonal vegetables. Guests can also enjoy surprises woven throughout their dining experience, including an amuse-bouche, a small welcome bite to kick off the meal, and an intermezzo, a refreshing palate cleanser served between courses. To conclude the evening, guests can expect their check presented on a bonsai tree, accompanied by delightful take-home desserts like small chocolates.
“Growing up in Corfu, Greece, I developed a deep love for the vibrant flavors of the Mediterranean and the art of using fresh, local ingredients. At Eos & Nyx, I’m thrilled to bring those influences to San Jose, blending the warmth and traditions of Mediterranean cuisine with California’s seasonal bounty to create a menu that’s both familiar and unexpected,” said Moulinos.

Eos & Nyx, designed by San Diego-based Basile Studio, spans nearly 4,000 square feet over two stories within the Paseo mixed-use development. The design incorporates natural materials like stone and ceramics, neutral colors inspired by land and sea, and rich textiles with intricate patterns.
The restaurant features ample outdoor seating for al fresco dining and indoor spaces, enhanced by 20-foot ceilings that bleed in natural light, showcasing lush greenery tucked in every corner of the dining room. A striking centerpiece of the space is a canopying tree, alongside an open-concept kitchen where diners can get a glimpse of culinary prowess at work. Another captivating element is the restaurant’s rotating, floor-to-ceiling conveyor belt of spirits, visible from both inside and outside.
Eos & Nyx will open to the public on November 20 and is located at 201 S Second St, Ste 120, San Jose, CA 95113. Hours of operation are as follows: Dinner will be served Tuesday through Thursday from 5 p.m. to 9 p.m., and Friday and Saturday from 5 p.m. to 10 p.m. Brunch will be available on Friday and Saturday from 10 a.m. to 2 p.m. and on Sunday from 9 a.m. to 3 p.m.
