According to a recent report by SF EaterEnterprise Brewing Co. will take over the former Cellarmaker space at 1150 Howard Street, where it will neighbor establishments such as Harvest Urban Market, Rize Up Bakery, and Sightglass Coffee.

McDonald tells Eater that he and Hayter “have been looking for a space to start their own brewery for quite some time.”

Because the space previously housed another brewer, much of the necessary equipment was included, meaning the team has been able to begin brewing already — focusing on “approachable” pilsners, pale ales, and lagers.

For readers who are unfamiliar with the establishment, Enterprise Brewing originally operated in San Francisco over a century ago and, according to SFGATE, “was one of the five largest breweries in the city at the time.”

However, because no one owned the trademark, McDonald and Hayter were able to claim the name. “We’re paying homage to an old SF brand,” McDonald shares.

The brewery is slated to open on August 5. In the meantime, follow Enterprise Brewing on Instagram for updates.
