Co-owner Vinh Ha confirmed the news with What Now San Francisco in a phone call this week, adding that they expect to open the downtown SJ location sometime this fall. We can expect the same egg-cellent menu with items like Hawaiian Morning (over medium egg, spam, arugula, ketchup, house sauce in a warm brioche bun) and The B.E.C. (generous portion of thick cut bacon, over medium egg, cheddar cheese with ketchup and house sauce on a toasted brioche bun).
Egghead Sando Café recently opened at Capitol Expressway, in the plaza anchored by Lucky grocery store with 85°C Bakery Cafe and Cha Cha Sushi. Originally based in Cupertino, Egghead Sando Café is able to serve customers all day, every day until 8 p.m. from their latest location.
If Egghead remains open this late in downtown San Jose as well, it would be good news for the area which is starting to see nightlife pick back up. “Leasing activity is really strong right now in downtown San Jose,” Colliers Senior Vice President Nick Goddard tells Mercury News. “We are getting a lot of tenants signed up with good rental rates… Happy hour and lunchtime are still a little anemic, but nighttime activity is great.”
