The owner, Stoudane Barkouki, declined to discuss any plans with What Now San Fransisco when reached over the telephone Wednesday.

Barkouki did confirm the permit filing and said more information will be revealed “in a week.” So we should expect information about the space in early July. The business was registered on May 14th, 2021, so plans have begun for some time now.

Soul Food City, a southern-style American restaurant, used to occupy the space on Eddy Street but since permanently shut down.

Eddy Street, Stu’s Kitchen’s future home, is in the center of so many great areas like Japantown, Chinatown, the Theater District and the Civic center, it is absolutely a perfect place for a growing business and will have a diverse crowd coming to try the new place.

When it comes to businesses on the street, a majority of them are restaurants, cafes, and eateries, ranging from swanky cocktail bars to middle eastern cuisines to even simple pizza joints, it is the place to be to find yourself some grub. The spot at 403 itself is surrounded by various food markets that seem to be doing well for themselves.

So it’s pretty clear that Stu’s Kitchen will make a fine addition to the area…or some healthy competition.
