Founded by Sarah Redmond, Cocoon Urban Day Spa is one of the most popular spas in the bay area. Beginning her journey in 2000, Sarah started her career working for some of the top spas in France, Ireland, and the UK. Eventually she worked her way to the top and earned the prestigious CIDESCO certification for beauty and spa therapy. Specializing in skin care and waxing, Sarah was eventually able to start a spa of her own.

Cocoon Urban Day Spa is structured around the philosophy that “Wellness, relaxation and health are an ongoing lifestyle choice.” Described as an exclusive urban sanctuary, Cocoon offers its patrons a personalized experience that caters to their specific wellness needs. They offer services like Dermaplaning, Microdermabrasion, and IV Infusion therapy, in addition to standard spa and wax treatments.

Cocoon Urban Day Spa currently operates in two locations, one at 330 First Street in SOMA, and the other at 5377 Avenue in Oakland. Their newest spa would become their third location overall and the first to arrive in Noe Valley.

Also worth mentioning is the fact that they are currently operating at 25% capacity in order to protect the well-being of their customers. Cocoon ensures that all their facilities are clean and beautiful, holding themselves accountable to the highest standards of hospitality. It’s strongly recommended to book a session in advance on their website.

While it’s not clear yet when precisely the new location will open, the other locations are still open and thriving. Check out Cocoon for yourself at the other locations, but don’t be too surprised if by the end you’ve transformed into a beautiful butterfly.
