Chef Christopher Kostow Is Taking Over Ciccio

"We don’t plan many changes — everyone, including us, loves what Frank and his team have created. But we will, of course, make some minor tweaks here and there because that is just in our nature," Kostow shares.

Christopher Kostow, a three-Michelin-starred chef, is the new owner of Ciccio — a “bustling, unpretentious find specializing in wood-fired pizzas and Italian entrees in cozy environs” in Yountville that has been closed since 2022.

Initially opened in 2012 by Frank Altamura, Ciccio was known for its handwritten menus that varied daily but usually offered types of pasta, pizza, and fish-based plates. Unfortunately, the restaurant shuttered during the pandemic.

“We don’t plan many changes — everyone, including us, loves what Frank and his team have created. But we will, of course, make some minor tweaks here and there because that is just in our nature,” Kostow shares with the Napa Valley Register.

According to SFist, some changes include allowing reservations and an interior redesign.

In addition to Ciccio, Kostow and his wife, Martina, own The Charter Oak, Loveski’s, and he is the executive chef at Restaurant at Meadowood.

Ciccio at 6770 Washington Street is slated to open late this spring.
